: Arriving on the scene of a railroad transportation mishap, the first –on –scene responders note that the fire in a ruptured tankcar is impinging on the exterior surface of the adjacent, intact tankcar. No information is immediately available concerning the chemical nature of the contents in either tankcar, but the following reporting marks are imprinted on each side and each end of the two tank cars. MDSB124665 and MDSB124666. To best protect public health, safety, and the environment, what is the preferred action for these responders to take?
Create a barrier for emergency response personnel.
The number are the serial number to the cars which service no purpose unless you call the owner, which would be to late.
If it was carrying chemicals it should of had the the Diamond shaped hazard indicator, which tells if it is Radioactive, bio, flame,health hazard.
