Coal Crusher and Coal Crushing Plant
Coal, a fossil fuel, is the largest source of energy for the generation of electricity worldwide, Coal is extracted from the ground by mining, either underground or in open pits. Coal is primarily used as a solid fuel to produce electricity and heat through combustion. Coal is the workhorse of the nation’s electric power industry. The USA consumes about 14% of the world total, using 90% of it for generation of electricity, Coal-fired electric generating plants are the cornerstone of the nation’s central power system.
Coal mining:
Coal is mined by two methods: surface or open pit mining, underground or deep mining.
Surface mining – also known as opencast or opencut mining – is only economic when the coal seam is near the surface. The overburden of soil and rock is first broken up by explosives; it is then removed by draglines or by shovel and truck. Once the coal seam is exposed, it is drilled, fractured and systematically mined in strips. The coal is then loaded on to large trucks or conveyors for transport to either the coal preparation plant or direct to where it will be used.
There are two main methods of underground mining: room-and-pillar and longwall mining.
Coal Crushing Plant
Coal is mined by explosion, then crushed by coal crusher into small pieces. In this coal crushing process, several types of coal crusher are used. Jaw crusher, impact crusher, cone crusher can be used as coal pulverizer. A complete coal crusher plant includes crushing and screening machines. Jaw crusher is the primary crusher, impact crusher is the secondary crusher, cone crusher is the fine crusher. Raw coal is transported between these coal crushers through belt conveyor. The finished crushing coal materials is screened out by vibrating screen. The eligible coal materials enter into further process, while unqualified pieces return to the coal crusher for crushing again. In this coal crushing process, coal can be crushed into 30-50 mm.
