Photos Lot Ideas
If you are new to scrapbooking you can get a lot of creative scrapbooking ideas online, many of which are free. An important thing to remember is that most scrapbooks are built around photographs. Before you attempt to figure out the layout of your entire scrapbook you will want to choose which pictures you will feature in the book. Once you do this, you can choose the paper, layout, and embellishments that you want to use to dress up your project.
Do take care not to use original photographs in your scrapbooks. Once you have chosen the pictures you want to use then you will either want to make copies of them or print copies yourself using acid free paper. This is another advantage to making digital scrapbooks because you can just scan your photos into your computer and then you will have them to work with. However, even if you are crafting traditional scrapbooks, you can still benefit from digital editing programs. This is creative scrapbooking at its best. You can crop your pictures on the computer and then print them out the way you want them to appear in the finished project.
Most people construct scrapbooks that are built around a central theme. It could be a vacation, or it could be based on a person, such as a new baby. Other popular themes for scrapbooks include important events, such as a wedding or a graduation. If you are making a gift, decide at the outset how many you will make so that it will be easier to make creative scrapbooking pages in an assembly line fashion. Also, it is important to know how many of each item you need to purchase. You don’t want to get halfway through your project only to find out that the store no longer stocks some of the supplies you need.
While you will find many commercially available enhancements for your creative scrapbooking projects, remember that personal memorabilia is often the element that makes scrapbooks so special. Personal embellishments may include locks of hair, flowers, souvenirs, and any other small items of significance. Handwritten note, recipes, or other mementos in a special person’s handwriting are also popular items to include in a scrapbook, especially if it is a gift for someone.
Regardless of how much money you spend, it is important to use acid free paper and supplies in your scrapbooks. You want your photos and memorabilia to be preserved for a long time and so quality supplies are a must. Creative scrapbooking doesn’t have to be expensive and you can save a lot of money by comparing prices online.
