Can you shovel and dump the snow onto the outside of your own street parking area?

I was just wondeirng. I know its not allowed to dump snow onto the street because cars are going through there… but what if you dump snow onto single parking area? Is that illegal too? My father kept insisting on dumping the snow onto the parking street instead on piling on the side curb.

If the area that you are dumping snow is private property then no, it is not allowed. You have to understand the rules and regulations for your area. Dumping snow on someone’s property whether it is a citizen or an organization is clearly illegal and you will be cited for it, if you are caught. Your best bet is to move the snow to an area where it is permitted, but you must find out what the rule is for that organization.
